Meet Teresa R. Buxton

Teresa Buxton, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, is dedicated to facilitating the healing of emotional and psychological wounds brought on by childhood trauma, relationship difficulties and the challenges everyday life can bring. Teresa believes change is possible and will partner with you to bring about the change you desire to see and experience. In therapy, you will work to identify self-limiting beliefs and behavior patterns that keep you from experiencing joy and reaching your full potential. You will also tap into your inner strength, learn new ways to cope, clarify your values and define success on your own terms.

Teresa has over 25 years of counseling experience servicing women, children and adolescents who struggle with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, self-injury, abuse and other traumatic experiences. She received her Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Community Services from Bowling Green State University, Ohio. Teresa obtained her Master of Social Work from Rutgers University and holds a post-graduate clinical certificate in Bowen Family Systems Theory. She also has extensive training in CBT, DBT, MBSR and EMDR; all evidenced based modalities effective in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, and depression. Teresa takes a strength-based, whole person and trauma informed approach to counseling.
